Photographs of a special project near Shap in Cumbria. This is an eighteenth century barn conversion.
These pictures show the recreation of the roadside flank of the conversion and show the finished stonework and roof. The original building was built with many small stones and traditional quoins which were copied in the new construction.
Close up of traditional window opening.
Roof slating, pre-ridge, re-using original slates. Finished to resemble the original building as closely as possible.
Renovated original roof vents set back into position awaiting their finshed lead flashings.
Roof windows on longest side of the roof, approximately 17m long. The roof is pitched at 32 degrees.
